Yeah, I’m that way too, Rebecca. My husband teases me when I leave the house without a book. Only now I can carry a book inside my phone, so I’m never without reading material! Yay! 😉 Glad you found the Guide.

you do realize that there are folks out there, like myself, that have the complimentary addition, to reading….we can get pretty bad (my friend Deb Dedon and i laugh about the fact that we’ve both caught ourselves reading cereal boxes rather than go cold turkey over breakfast)

and some of us eventually develop BOTH…

Thanks, Brenda. Marta, I suspect your addiction will work out as well as mine. 🙂 Right now, I have so many good projects going, I’m wishing I didn’t have to sleep. And that’s never happened before. I happen to like sleep. 🙂 Good luck to you both.

Your last blog hit me in a number of ways. It was nice to get to know you a little bit more; it was also wonderful to realize that I am not the only one with the addition to the hard work of writing. You know writing is in your blood when you go on vacation to some exotic place and you find yourself actively dugging out time to keep writing… or when you look back on the wild assortment of jobs you’ve held over your career and realize you were bored to tears and that writing is the only thing that holds your attention. It’s not that I can happily write for 14 hours a day (or more); it’s that I can happily do that everyday. I finally did the smartest things ever — I retired so I could write full-time. Your experience and knowledge of this realm that I am entering has meant the world to me, so thank you.

Luckily people seem to like my work, we’ll see where that gets me in the future. I have been quietly listening in the background on the Oregon Writers Network, but I’m there, learning, learning, et cetera.

Thanks for sharing all those great insights,
Marta
